CIRCUIT OF ESPOSENDE AND BARCELOS
We start this tour in a small fishing town and then we head to the country of the very famous Rooster of Barcelos.
Here we will know the origin of the legend of the rooster as well as the link of Barcelos with pottery. If this visit takes place on the day of the weekly fair, you can also see one of the largest traditional fairs in northern Portugal.

Visit of the Castro de São Lourenço
We know through the archaeological remains that Esposende was inhabited thousands of years ago. We therefore thought it interesting to start our visit with a passage through this Castro that will allow you to discover what the constructions of the houses at the time looked like as well as some utensils of the day used by the people in their daily life.

Walk on the Barca
Heading towards Rio Tinto, a replica of the boat that was once used to cross the Cávado River, we will take advantage of this walk to make you know and taste some of the traditional products of Esposende

Visit of the center of Esposende
We will pass, with this stage, at the end of this visit of the city of Esposende.

Lunch Break
We then head to Apulia, a village of fishermen and traditions linked to sargasso. Here, we will take the opportunity to make our lunch break which is not included in the service.

Barcelos city centre tour
We will then visit the historic center of Barcelos where we will pass through the medieval ruins of the city and we will know the history of the legend of the Rooster of Barcelos.

Visit of the pottery museum
To end our visit, we will visit the pottery museum where you will have the opportunity to know the attachment of the barges to these traditions as well as to acquire a henhouse of Barcelos to decorate your houses and remember the day in our company.
