CIRCUIT OF THE DOURO VALLEY
With more than 26,000 hectares and classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in the category of cultural landscape, the Douro region is one of the favorite activities of the tourist guides of Best Tours Portugal. This tourist circuit was born from a fusion between gastronomy and the emblematic landscapes of this place.
Program
This circuit makes you discover the riches of the city of Porto considered as the capital of the North. From 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., enjoy a historical and cultural getaway in the company of a guide. Discover, below, the activities that we offer.

Mirador of Mesao Frio
After starting our journey to the Douro region and past the mountain of Marão, You can see the Douro River and it is at this time that we will make a brief stop at the Mesão Frio viewpoint to enjoy the sunrise on the Douro River.

Peso da Régua
The city of Peso da Régua was a very important milestone in the development of the history of Porto’s wine. Discovering this city known to be the starting point was Port wine found in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia.

First visit to a wine cellar
Once we arrive in the village of Pinhão, we will stop in a wine cellar in Porto where we will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Porto’s wine. During this visit, we will also have the opportunity to walk in the vineyards and terraces.

Walk in the Douro in Barco Rabelo
After tasting wine of porto, we will head to the Pinhão quay where we will board a Rabelo boat for a one-hour cruise on the Douro River. The Rabelo boats are replicas of the boats that were used for the transport of Port wine from the Douro region to the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia

Visit of the station of Pinhão
The station of Pinhão is composed of tiles that represent the life of the people of the countryside and winemakers, We found it important to make a stop, in this emblematic place of traditional Portugal, before continuing our visit

Mirador Casal de Loivos
We will then climb to the top of a mountain to meet the small village of Casal de Loivos where you can enjoy a nice view.

Second visit to a wine cellar
To continue our tourist visit in the village of Casal de Loivos, we will visit a farm that produces Douro wines, honey and olive oil. After an explanation and a visit of the farm, we will taste the products of it. This is when we will end our visit to the Douro as a conclusion and return to our starting point.
